In addition to facilitating community classes led by expert local, national, and international herbalists and other holistic instructors, we also host monthly Medicine Making Parties where you can get your hands dirty with seasonal, fresh herbs and numerous classes and events throughout the five boroughs!

Honey Bee Medicine with Susanna Raeven of Raven Crest Botanicals

Come and learn about the life of a bee and our intricate and deep connection to their well being. Glimpse into the world of sustainable and kinder beekeeping and learn ways to support the health of honey bees. Learn the medicinal uses of propolis, a powerful tree remedy made by bees with a variety of health benefits.  Explore the magical uses of propolis inside a beehive and the many ways to use propolis as medicine for ourselves. Medicine Making Parties 

Upcoming Dates: January 26, February 23, March 15, April 19, 4pm – 6pm

Location: ION Studio, 41 Wooster Street, 1 floor rear, 10013 New York, NY

Driven by the seasons, each month we explore different herbs and mediums, including tinctures, vinegars, oils, honeys, and more based on what is lively and fresh in our partner gardens. Offered in tandem with NYC Chapter of the American Herbalist’s Guild, each class is part instruction/education and part hands-on learning as we dive in and make our own medicine for ourselves the community. Open to herbalists, herbal medicine enthusiasts, the herb curious, and complete beginners!

A $25 materials fee includes a take home jar of medicine (worth at least $60 and up to $100 retail). Classes are volunteer-led by local herbalists with all money directed to farmer payments, fresh herbs, medicine making supplies, harvest, and transportation costs.
